She also performs with orchestras and chamber music concerts five to six times annually and is a registered Suzuki method teacher who has completed more than ten levels of training and is active teaching workshops at various Suzuki Institutes across the country. Outside of her primary efforts at CelloLEAP, Ms. Randisi-Hooker has been a cellist with the Trillium Piano Trio since 2014. Her previous roles include serving as a section cellist for the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra from 1999 to 2006 and as artistic director of the Academy of Children's Music in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania from 1987 to 1993. Earlier in her career, she was the assistant principal cellist for the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra from 1979 to 1984.
Throughout her career, Ms. Randisi-Hooker has been an active member of the American String Teachers Association, the Suzuki Association of the Americas, the Music Educators National Conference, the Music Teachers National Association, the Music Study Club, the American Federation of Musicians, and the National Federation of Music Teachers. Her dedication to these organizations underscores her commitment to advancing music education and performance.
Ms. Randisi-Hooker's academic achievements have significantly contributed to her professional success. She earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, after which she attained a Master of Music in cello performance from Temple University in 1987. In accounting for her subsequent success, she largely credits her unwavering dedication and persistence, emphasizing the importance of continuing to work diligently as a lifelong learner.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Randisi-Hooker is actively involved in various civic organizations. She served as a board member for both the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association and the Joy of Music School. Her contributions have been recognized with several awards, including being named Outstanding Teacher in the State of Tennessee by the Tennessee Governor's School for the Arts, and receiving a citation from the Suzuki Association of the Americas in 2014.
Outside of her career, Ms. Randisi-Hooker enjoys hiking in the mountains, practicing yoga, weight training, cooking, reading, traveling, and visiting museums. In the future, she aims to focus on mentoring and providing guidance to emerging musicians.
