Drawing on years of professional expertise in organizational management, veterinary medicine, leadership, and more, Dr. Bayne excels as the owner of Bayne Mobile Veterinary Services. Although semi-retired, he still works as a relief veterinarian for practices, providing canine and feline veterinary services. Dr. Bayne was the program director of veterinary technology at the Baker College of Port Huron, through which he designed and implemented the curriculum, oversaw the budget for the Veterinary Technology program, and supervised several faculty members.
During the early stages of his career, Dr. Bayne gained valuable expertise in veterinary medicine and education through various roles with Argosy University, Boston Scientific Corporation, Pfizer, and Ethicon. Through his tenure with Pfizer, he managed the animal facility, sterilization laboratory, its $1.6 million budget, and a brachytherapy study of the coronary arteries. Likewise, he worked for Ethicon as a study director, observing wound healing and biomechanical response to potentiation agents. Due to his vast knowledge, Dr. Bayne has contributed to several articles, including "Effectiveness of the growth promoter virginiamycin used in combination with semduramicin or semduramicin plus roxarsone" and "Intramedullary Rods: Clinical Performance and Related Laboratory Testing."
An expert in his field, Dr. Bayne holds a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in bioengineering from the University of Utah. Driven to remain abreast of changes in the field, he aligns himself with the Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association, the Academy of Surgical Research, and the Michigan and American Veterinary Medical Associations. In conjunction with his work, Dr. Bayne has also contributed to his community through the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak.
While his career has been filled with highlights, Dr. Bayne takes the most pride in contributing to the Rimadyl project at Pfizer. Similarly, he is proud of graduating from veterinary school and earning a master's degree in bioengineering. Though hard work and dedication have brought him far in his career, he credits his success to his steadfast work ethic and the challenges he has faced, making him who he is. Dr. Bayne intends to retire soon and spend more time with his family.
