Ms. Crespo's career began in 2000 as a psychologist. It was her first experience with animal assisted therapy. She was responsible for the psychological care of therapeutic riding practitioners to improve self-confidence, psychomotor and cognitive coordination, self-esteem and the socialization of patients using specially trained horses. She also supported the families of the child attendants with the purpose of encouraging the children to overcome their physical limitations.
In 2007 Ms. Crespo began as a family intervention specialist at Guarapari City Hall, where she worked until 2009. Concurrently, she served as a psychologist at the Guarapari Dermatological Center from 2007 to 2010. After this appointment, her role as technical coordinator and therapist at CETVIAS Therapeutic Riding Center Alternative Routes further solidified her commitment to therapeutic practices, as did her position as a psychologist at the Psicomedic Medical and Psychological Clinic. Outside of therapy, she contributed to academia in her early career as a board member of the health management course and distance tutor at the Federal University of Espirito Santo from 2012 to 2013.
In 2014, Ms. Crespo established a private practice, where she provided psychological services until 2020. Her journey in entrepreneurship continued when she founded Psi Leka in 2020, the practice she continues to run today. In 2024, she expanded her professional repertoire by serving as a life coach through her latest venture, Autism Life Lab, aiming to work with the autistic community.
Ms. Crespo's academic background is extensive and diverse. She earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Unisinos in Brazil in 1999, followed by postgraduate studies in family health program management at Integrated Colleges of Jacarepaguá and further studies in hospital psychology at Veiga de Almeida University. Her certifications include basic equine therapy courses, CPR and AED first aid qualifications and several LinkedIn certificates with a focus on project management and communication.
Ms. Crespo attributes her success to her relentless pursuit of greater accomplishments and the opportunities provided by working at a federal university in Brazil, which allowed her to expand her curriculum and think creatively.
