Leveraging more than three decades of excellence as a director, producer and writer, Mr. Sims has earned distinction as the founder and president of Fusion Productions, Inc. (aka FusionFlix Entertainment), which he founded alongside his wife. Since 1990, he has focused his efforts on producing original feature films, factual TV series and documentaries. Over the course of his career, he has secured 37 Telly Awards and several film festival awards for his stellar work on notable projects like the theatrical feature film, "Echoes of lnnocence," the factual series, "Space Mistakes: How NASA Failures Further Exploration" and the documentary, "Thirst: Mission Liberia."
While developing his company, Mr. Sims was the founder, charter board member and legislative chairman for the Texas Motion Picture Alliance in 2006. He also served as the president of the Dallas Producers Association from 2005 until 2007, having also been on the board of directors from 2002 until 2004. Prior to these roles, he began his career as a news director of a radio station, was a disk jockey, and worked in professional theatre.
To prepare for his career in film production, Mr. Sims earned a Bachelor of Arts in both theatrical production and Radio/Television from Howard Payne University in 1990. Following this achievement, he attained a Master of Arts in film directing from Regent University in 1999. He continued his commitment to his alma mater as the president of the Regent University Alumni Association Dallas-Fort Worth chapter.
Within the coming years, Mr. Sims intends to create more movies and documentaries, releasing them to theaters. He is also inspired toward innovating in the space of virtual reality, advancing more significant projects each year and guaranteeing the continued longevity of his company. He and his team are currently producing "Miracle on the Precipice," a wilderness survival movie inspired by John Bunyan's, "The Pilgrim's Progress." With principal photography complete, the film is planned for a theatrical release in 2025.
