The Sweet Spot for Managers in Investment Grade Credit" about nimble manager's ability to generate alpha was able to garner industry attention and played a significant role in driving business for the firm. During his tenure at PineBridge, he was pivotal in driving the assets under management for developed markets investment grade fixed income team by over 25% since 2019 through his consistent strategy and risk management efforts, compelling client presentations and innovations of ESG integration into existing and model portfolios. The flagship strategy, US IG Corporate, where Ash was primarily responsible for portfolio strategy and risk, received two notable recognitions. The strategy was awarded runner-up in Camradata awards based on total return for the trailing 3 years ending 2022 among over 50 managers in the strategy. The strategy was also ranked first among all the fund managers running US fixed income funds in Singapore for the year June 2019- June 2020.
Prior to joining PineBridge, Ash worked at Nomura Research as a Fixed Income Strategist, where he spearheaded the inception of US Credit Strategy publications. Collaborating closely with the Head of US Fixed Income Strategy, he produced a series of influential research publications on market trends and themes. These publications gained widespread recognition and were extensively cited in leading financial outlets such as Business Insider, Bloomberg, and Barron's. One of his research study around "US Late Cycle Signals" was featured as a full article in Business Insider and received positive feedback from the industry.
Previously, Ash worked at Citigroup in their fixed income analytics division (Yield Book). At Citi, he provided critical analytical support to fixed income managers for day-to-day portfolio management, performing, analyzing, and interpreting complex bond math calculations. He also undertook consulting projects for asset managers and companies, which included creating custom indices, optimizing data delivery, and process automation. Additionally, he collaborated with senior developers to test updates and new features, such as enhancements to prepayment models and projections, which significantly impacted the fixed income industry.
Aside from his primary career initiatives, Mr. Shetty is actively involved in the fixed income community as a keynote speaker and panelist, sharing his industry expertise. While at Nomura, Ash presented at a GFMI conference on liquidity trends in the fixed income markets. He was recently invited at Fixed Income Leaders Summit and participated in a portfolio strategy panel about driving alpha through ESG integration. He has been invited to participate in two more fixed income conferences this year and continues to share his knowledge through industry-wide events.
Mr. Shetty's extensive academic background includes a Bachelor of Technology from the National Institute of Technology, India, and an MBA in Finance from SUNY Buffalo. Committed to continuous learning, Ash also obtained an applied data science certification from Columbia Engineering Executive Education. Ash is a CFA charter holder and holds a certification in ESG investing from CFA institute. Ash was invited to join the Forbes Finance Council for his distinguished profile and accomplishments in the field of finance. He is also a member of the CFA Society of New York. During his university days, Ash was the President of the Financial Management Association. His notable awards and achievements during his MBA, include winning the IBM Business Simulation, being recognized as the Most Likely to be CEO of a Fortune 100 company by GMA, and receiving multiple prizes in international and national business strategy case competitions.
Mr. Shetty's dedication extends beyond his professional life into civic associations and extracurricular activities. He served as president of the student chapter for Children's Rights and You (CRY) and was involved with Habitat for Humanity during his internship at Citi.
