Securing private equity funding through Cresta Fund Management in Dallas, they embarked on the company's inaugural project in upstate New York. With five operational projects currently in motion, his team has another five slated for construction and 10-15 more on the horizon in the next two years. Co-founding LF Bioenergy is Mr. Flis' most notable accomplishment and Marathon Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:MPC) recently purchased 49.9% of the company.
Prior to founding LF Bioenergy, Mr. Flis ventured into oil and gas consulting and successfully launched Lavister in 2018. Here, he specialized in empowering energy, chemical and services companies to achieve peak operational performance through a fusion of people, processes and data. Additionally, he co-founded OperatingCulture in 2020 and served as a partner until 2021 while concurrently co-founding ParOne in 2020 and holding the role of chief financial officer until 2021.
Mr. Flis' early career includes tenure with Wilson Perumal & Company in 2010 as a strategy and operations consultant. His positive impact led him to be recruited by Endeavor Management in 2017 as managing director of energy, manufacturing and operational excellence. His earlier roles include supplier quality manager at Eaton Corporation from 2008 to 2010 and senior financial analyst at the same firm for the preceding two years.
Mr. Flis also has an impressive military career, including six years in the U.S. Air Force. He served as a information operations research manager from 2003 to 2006, a ballistic missile program manager and production manager from 2001 to 2003 and a deputy program manager and flight controls unit engineer from 2000 to 2001.
Mr. Flis holds a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Fisher College of Business as part of Ohio State University, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He has obtained numerous certifications, including Executive Presence and Influence: Persuasive Leadership Development from The Wharton School, Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence from ASQ World Headquarters and Newchip Seed and Series A Accelerator from Newchip Accelerator.
