Mr. Petroni is an expert in human-centric lighting with over 15 years of experience as the vice president of lighting and irrigation design at National Lawn & Outdoor Living. Revolutionizing outdoor lighting contracts by integrating human-centric lighting principles, his work focuses on how light influences human physiology, particularly its impact on cortisol levels, wakefulness and melatonin production. By utilizing the Lutron system, Mr. Petroni tailors indoor and outdoor lighting to create environments that enhance occupants' well-being.
As an expert in human-centric lighting design, Mr. Petroni emphasizes maintaining a healthy circadian rhythm through appropriate lighting choices. After his tenure in bridge construction, Mr. Petroni spent over five years as a surety bond agent in New York, writing surety bonds for contractors. This role led him to an opportunity to oversee Lawn Doctor franchises in New York and Connecticut, where he gained extensive knowledge of the lawn care and irrigation business. This experience ultimately paved the way for Mr. Petroni's current position at National Lawn & Outdoor Living.
In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Petroni is actively involved as a member of DarkSky International, the International Landscape Lighting Institute, the Association of Outdoor Lighting Professionals, the Lighting Design and Application, and the Illuminating Engineering Society. Beyond these endeavors, he has been active civically with town zoning boards to reduce the impact of bright lights on the evening sky and is a volunteer firefighter in White Plains, New York. Mr. Petroni is also a dedicated volunteer with the American Red Cross, the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and the Yonkers Office of Emergency Management in Yonkers, New York.
