In light of his accomplishments Dr. Brown was recognized as Brother of the Year by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. in 2016. He was also named Brother of the Year in 2012.

Dr. Brown has made significant strides as an academic advisor lead at the University of Washington, where he has served since 2020. In his role, he focuses on assisting first-generation and low-income students of color to help them succeed in four-year universities.
Leveraging 20 years of success, Dr. Brown's journey began as a freshman seminar counselor at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, from 2004 to 2005. He then progressed through various roles, including as a service leader coordinator at Youth Volunteer Corps in Seattle between 2008 and 2009. After a brief break while pursuing his master's degree, Dr. Brown became a club center coordinator at South Seattle Community College from 2013 to 2014 and a Mathematics, Engineering, Science, and Achievement (MESA) program retention advising coordinator and interim director at Highline College in Des Moines, Washington, between 2015 and 2019.
Dr. Brown's educational background is equally impressive. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology and women's and ethnic studies from Washington State University in 2008, a Master of Science in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Washington in 2012, and a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Seattle University in 2023. During college, Dr. Brown completed an internship in transportation studies and ethnic cultural centers at the University of Washington between 2011 and 2012 and became a Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. member. He also recently completed a course via LinkedIn in 2023 called Just Ask" Kwame Christian on Discussing Race.
Dr. Brown's professional commitments include involvement with several organizations. He is an officer of the Professional Advising Organization and a member of the National Society of Black Engineers. Additionally, Dr. Brown is active on the advisor committee at the University of Washington. Beyond his professional endeavors, he has been active civically through affiliation with the March of Dimes and March for Babies.
