During this first job within the industry out of graduate school, he worked at WeatherWorks LLC in Hackettstown from 2010 to 2014 as a long-range, seasonal weather forecaster and meteorologist – where he continued to work as a consultant during his first year with Mars.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Troiano held academic positions as a graduate research assistant at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire, in 2009 and as a graduate teaching assistant from 2008 to 2009. He also gained experience as a meteorological intern at the National Weather Service in Albany, New York, in 2007, marking the start of his professional endeavors.
Mr. Troiano's academic background includes a Master of Science in applied meteorology from Plymouth State University, which he completed in 2009. Prior to his master's degree, he earned a Bachelor of Science in atmospheric science, mathematics and statistics from the University at Albany in 2008, excelling to the extent that he was inducted into the Presidential Honor Society and graduated with high honors.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Troiano is actively involved with industry-related organizations. He is a member of the American Meteorological Society and has served as a mentor for the Board of Private Sector Meteorologists since 2017. He has also volunteered at several Student Conferences organized by the American Meteorological Society since 2016 and with America's Grow-a-Row since 2014, underscoring his commitment to fostering growth within his field.
Based on his extensive experience with numerous companies, Mr. Troiano advocates integrating external best practices and emphasizes networking to stay updated on technological advancements. He focuses on delivering clear, impactful messaging and effectively conveying complex ideas through concise graphics, charts, and tables. Outside of his professional life, Mr. Troiano enjoys several outdoor activities – including skiing, hiking and whitewater rafting. He also enjoys traveling with family and close friends – as he is passionate about exploring various cultures and better understanding their traditions and customs. Looking ahead at a professional level, Mr. Troiano aims to increasingly focus on crop modeling and production, leveraging his expertise in weather forecasting to develop production models and predict price movements.
