Prior to her current position, Ms. Neibloom served as an environmental epidemiologist at the Florida Department of Health in Broward County from 2019 to 2024. During this period, she played a pivotal role in addressing respiratory illnesses and managing the COVID-19 pandemic. Her comprehensive training in Broward County equipped her with the skills necessary to identify symptoms and implement isolation protocols effectively. Recognizing the virus's specific organ targeting and diverse health implications, she led the training for newly recruited contact tracers. Under her leadership, the contact tracing team expanded to approximately 400 individuals. Additionally, she collaborated with her team to develop a comprehensive manual outlining the COVID-19 interview process and case-specific guidelines, which was shared with all counties in Florida.
Ms. Neibloom's dedication to public health is further evidenced by her expertise in hepatitis. Initially focusing on gastrointestinal diseases during her internship at the health department, she later concentrated on hepatitis B and C due to the emergence of COVID-19. Her efforts were instrumental when Broward County declared a state of emergency for hepatitis A, where she educated the public on prevention, vaccination and stopping its spread.
With a Bachelor of Science in community health from Florida Gulf Coast University, completed in 2017, and a Master of Public Health in infection control from the University of South Florida, earned in 2019, Ms. Neibloom has built a robust foundation for her professional journey. Her academic achievements are complemented by certifications as a lead-based paint inspector from both the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division, obtained in 2022.
In addition to her professional roles, Ms. Neibloom is actively involved in various civic organizations. She has volunteered with the Children's Services Council of Broward County, the Florida KidCare Program and Water Smart Broward. These experiences allow her to contribute meaningfully to community health initiatives and broaden her impact beyond her primary job responsibilities.
Ms. Neibloom attributes much of her success to Rebecca Miele, her initial supervisor at the health department, who advocated for her employment due to her consistent voluntary contributions. This support was crucial in shaping her career path and fostering her passion for public health.
Looking ahead, Ms. Neibloom is eager to return to her role at the health department and engage in community outreach activities once more. Her primary goal is to implement ideas for infection control in hospitals while working closely with the community to ensure these measures' effectiveness.
