Mr. Chern has been recognized with numerous accolades, including being inducted into the University of Illinois, Chicago, Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame.
CHICAGO, IL, October 03, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin Chern has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Chern is the Chief Executive Officer of Sanguine Strategic Advisors, a position he has held since 2019. He has built the company from the ground up to a multi-million-dollar advisory group that takes a problem-centric approach to helping its thousands of business clients solve their most pressing operational issues through a combination of thoughtful professional insights and introductions to a carefully curated set of best-in-class solutions providers. In 2024, the company was named number 94 on Inc. Magazine's annual list of the 5000 fastest growing privately held companies in the United States.
In addition to his role at Sanguine Strategic Advisors, Mr. Chern has found success as the founder and Managing Member of Biz Head Law LLC, a provider of business counsel and tax mitigation legal services to thousands of small businesses. In this capacity, he has established himself as a trusted advisor in the legal and business advisory sectors. Mr. Chern helps business owners and high net worth individuals mitigate tax burdens, devising complex tax strategies and offering guidance to high-net-worth individuals and business owners on minimizing their tax liabilities and maximizing the enterprise value of their businesses. Biz Head Law is the third law firm that Mr. Chern has grown to national scale. His first law firm, which he operated from 1997 to 2005 grew to over 180 employees, operating in 22 states and 70 markets across the country, representing over 2000 new clients every month. The second law firm, which he founded in 2013 and operated as Managing Member until 2019, was one of the pioneers in the delivery of virtual legal services, delivering legal assistance to tens of thousands of distressed consumers almost entirely via remote channels, meaningfully impacting their ability to access the justice system to obtain relief.
Mr. Chern's career took a significant turn between 2009 and 2011 when, as President of Total Attorneys, he actively worked to challenge established regulatory frameworks that restricted the methods lawyers could use to advertise and share information about their legal services. His efforts battling regulators were successful and helped to open up lead generation as a viable method for marketing in the legal industry. Despite facing substantial litigation and personal challenges over a two-year period, these efforts were aimed at bringing about meaningful changes in the regulatory framework. Despite the distraction of navigating the regulatory landscape, Mr. Chern was able to scale Total Attorneys, which was twice named to Inc. Magazine's fastest growing privately held companies in the Unites States. While at Total Attorneys, he was a driving force in the company's involvement in The Kwagala Project, a non-profit organization, based in Uganda, that established facilities to rescue young women and girls who were victims of human trafficking, and provided them with housing, education, food, shelter, security and vocational training. He personally travelled to Uganda to support the organization's efforts.
Mr. Chern's professional journey also includes roles such as President and Board Director for Start Fresh Today (online financial education), Founder, Bridge Legal (legal technology and support services), Advisory Board Member to four startup companies and, as of 2024, is the Founder and driving force behind three additional technology startups.
Before embarking on his professional journey, in 1990 Mr. Chern received a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Following this accomplishment, he studied at the University of Illinois College of Law, from which he attained a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1993. He attributes his subsequent success to his unwavering perseverance and resilience in the face of adversity.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Chern has been recognized with numerous accolades, such as, in 2011, being named by Fastcase as an inaugural member of the Fastcase 50, honoring entrepreneurs, innovators, and trailblazers — people who have charted a new course for the delivery of legal services, and in 2009 being inducted into the University of Illinois, Chicago, Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame.
Mr. Chern's civic involvement includes fundraising and volunteering for numerous local, national and international charities.
In his personal life, Mr. Chern enjoys spending time with his wife Laura and dog Murphy and watching Chicago Cubs games. He has two grown children, Isabelle and Sullivan. Looking toward the future, he plans to continue mentoring others while scaling the Sanguine business model which provides tools for people to share their networks to realize the benefit of extending their endorsed referrals.
