Before his tenure at Project Guardianship, Mr. Cetra garnered success as a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York Inc. from 2020 to 2021. He also worked as an associate at The Law Offices of Gina Mendola Longarzo LLC between 2019 and 2020, following his role as a law clerk from 2018 to 2019. While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Cetra interned several times and was a summer law clerk and student attorney for various firms and courts.
Mr. Cetra's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in nonfiction writing and investigative journalism with a focus on history from Sarah Lawrence College in 2015. Subsequently, he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence with a focus on civil rights and public interest law from The George Washington University in 2018. During his undergraduate studies, Mr. Cetra participated in a study abroad program at the University of Oxford from 2013 to 2014, where he studied British history and literature, death penalty policy and fiction writing.
While in college, Mr. Cetra was recognized for his hard work. He was awarded the Paul Khoury Fellowship by the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project in 2015 and received the John F. Evans Award from the D.C. Law Students in Court Program in 2018.
