Based in Silicon Valley, California, Mr. Edin is the Advisory Principal in charge of AI go-to-market strategy for KPMG LLP (U.S.) and the global lead for KPMG's AI Strategy offer. He served the prior three years as global lead partner for strategic accounts and alliances, and a leadership member of the deal advisory and strategy practice. He found prior success leading the build-up of KPMG's strategy practice for tech, telecom and media over a period of four years, since he joined KPMG in 2016.
In 2019, Mr. Edin was elected to the Board of KPMG LLP. He chairs the operations and technology committee since 2022 and has served on six committees, including audit & finance, human capital & culture, risk & compliance, board governance, and independent director nominations. In these roles, he has been instrumental in the board's oversight, e.g., of CEO succession, corporate strategy, culture change and AI transformation. He also serves on the Board of KPMG Americas Ltd, providing oversight of regional matters across KPMG firms in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and Israel.
Prior to KPMG, he joined Cisco in 2014 as vice president in San Jose, California. He was the global head of strategy, business development and operations for Cisco Services. This included shaping strategy, managing strategic transformation programs, and M&A integration, while being Chief of Staff for the daily operations of a $10 billion revenue global organization with a distinct P&L. Prior to joining Cisco as an executive, he advised several of its top executives for over 10 years as a consultant
Mr. Edin's career as strategy advisor started at McKinsey & Company, where he joined as senior associate in 1996 and left 17 years later after close to 5 years as senior partner. During his tenure, he travelled the world to serve clients in Europe, U.S., Africa and Asia. He was a winner of the McKinsey Knowledge Olympics for distinctive thought leadership on go-to-market strategy, a contributing author for McKinsey's first book on Sales Growth, and served as Faculty Author for eCornell's certificate program for sales managers.
In his early career, from 1993 to 1996, he worked as a satellite engineer at the European Space Agency and studied the use of space technology to mitigate natural disasters at the International Space University. He received his Master of Science in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in 1992, after completing his final semester at Northeastern University in Boston. Prior, he served honorably in the Swedish Navy as a staff sergeant in the 1st costal artillery regiment.
