In addition to his primary role, Mr. Hirsch has been the Founder and Chief Talent Adviser of On the Mark Talent since 2018. On the Mark Talent delivers a portfolio of end-to-end talent acquisition solutions to the life sciences industry. He is responsible for the continued growth of the organization, where his focus is not on being the biggest out there but on being the best at delivering a high-quality service. He builds sustainable long-term relationships with his clients while helping them solve their crucial talent acquisition needs.
From 2008 to 2016, he served as the Global Talent Acquisition Leader at Tunnell Consulting, where he built and led an in-house recruitment team spanning all of Tunnell's three main operating practices. Previously, Mr. Hirsch worked as a Recruitment Partner and Project Manager for Global Clinical Development at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals between 2003 and 2008, where he was responsible for hiring hundreds of employees during the organization's growth.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hirsch supported Merck's U.S. Clinical Development Teams. Before that, he was a Recruitment Consultant and RPO Project Manager at IBM from 2000 to 2002, following his experience as a Recruitment Consultant and Account Executive at MRI from 1998 to 2000.
Mr. Hirsch's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drexel University, a 5-year cooperative educational program that was 100% self-funded and completed in 1995. He also holds several certifications that have further enhanced his professional capabilities, including a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Villanova University in 2018 and a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute Inc. in 2012.
In addition to his extensive professional accomplishments, Mr. Hirsch is deeply engaged in various civic organizations. He founded TriCounty Cars and Coffee, an event that brings together car enthusiasts from Chester, Delaware and New Castle counties to help their local communities. Additionally, he participates in church outreach programs with a church he and others helped plant five years ago.
Mr. Hirsch's most notable achievements involve helping clients meet FDA demand for innovative medicines while bringing these innovative medicines to the patients. He played a key role in partnering with a gene therapy company that achieved the first U.S. approval, essentially restoring sight to children. Additionally, he assisted another client whose breast cancer medication extended his grandmother's life by several years, allowing her to see her first great-grandchild. Mr. Hirsch finds great fulfillment in working with organizations that pioneer groundbreaking therapies that ultimately impact patients' lives.
Outside of his career, Mr. Hirsch cherishes spending time with his family. He has a passion for collectible cars, especially the 1965 Shelby Cobra. He also enjoys walking his dogs and riding his motorcycle (when his wife allows him to do so)!
