He also shares his knowledge and passion as an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute and Pace University in New York.
BROOKLYN, NY, October 30, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Moeinedin Shashaei has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Having founded his own company, Zangar Products, in 2021, Mr. Shashaei has carved out a distinguished career for himself in the world of art and design. At Zangar Products, he works across metal and glass shops, as well as digital fabrication labs to create unique and meaningful jewelry that explores the idea of jewelry as connecting sculptures, installed on the human body. Mr. Shashaei developed the concept for this business during the COVID-19 pandemic, wherein he rediscovered his love for metalwork while isolating. Prior to founding Zangar Products, he served as a digital initiative associate for the CUNY Graduate Center and held positions as a freelance senior designer for Many Design Inc. and as a graduate assistant at the Pratt Manhattan Library.
Before immigrating to the United States from Iran in 2014, Mr. Shashaei started his career with a focus on art and poetic interactions. He taught high school Persian literature and pre-K art. In an exhibition subtitled "Best of Iran's Today Art'' that was held at the Iranian Artists Forum in the summer of 2013, he was the youngest invited artist. He also was an attending artist at group shows in Elahe, Sehyoun, and Shirin Art Galleries in Tehran. Mr. Shashaei learned the foundations of metalworking at the studio of Naser Giv, and attended masterclasses of Parviz Tanavoli, exploring the idea of jewelry as sculpture. He continues to share his knowledge and passion as an adjunct professor at Pratt Institute and Pace University in New York.
A strong academic foundation bolsters Mr. Shashaei's success in the art world. He was ranked in the top 99 percentile in the Iranian University Entrance Exam, which led to him receiving a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tehran in 2013. Mr. Shashaei then earned a Master of Fine Arts in communications design from Pratt Institute, graduating with outstanding merit in 2016. He was driven to pursue design from a young age when he found peace and a sense of freedom in art, paired with his skill at creative problem-solving. Mr. Shashaei finds great satisfaction in communicating through art and using that communication to drive small but impactful changes in people's lives and the world.
Many of Mr. Shashaei's creative achievements have been honored with awards, including a national gold medal from the Iranian Young Scholars Club's National Olympiad for Literature. He is a member of Iran's National Elites Foundation, marking him as one of the country's most promising talents. Mr. Shashaei's skill was also recognized with an Emerging Artist Fellowship from Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens, New York. During his residency in the summer of 2017, he created a 16-foot-tall concrete monument for human contact that he considers one of his most meaningful works.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Shashaei is dedicated to helping better the world through civic engagement. He is a teaching artist at Koko Open Source, a Brooklyn-based non-profit organization whose mission is empowering kids to build a world of their own making, with an emphasis on expression, experimentation, sustainability, and social engagement. Looking to the future, Mr. Shashaei plans to continue building Zangar Products and advancing its mission of fostering connectivity and communication through accessories. As a Fairmined-certified brand, He prioritizes the company's value of sustainability, ensuring that only responsibly mined gold is used in his jewelry. Mr. Shashaei's commitment to carefully considering his work's impact on the world continues to set him apart as an artist, a designer, and an educator.
