Dr. Maples journey has not been without adversity. At the age of 3, she lost her mother in a car accident, so she is acutely aware of the transient nature of life. Her late father, who left school after seventh grade, served as a an exceptionally strong and constant source of encouragement, motivation, and inspiration. Dr. Maples is one of the first in her family to receive a high school diploma, attend college, and obtain a bachelor's degree. She is the first physician in her family. She attributes much of her success to the unwavering support of her family, friends, and colleagues throughout her educational journey and professional career. The highlight of Dr. Maples's career has been ensuring patient satisfaction through her compassionate care and dedication to educating her patients.
Dr. Maples is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry, American Board of Optometry, Academy of Optometry, and the American Optometric Association. Looking ahead in her career, she plans to establish a specialized dry eye center that will provide expert care, educational resources and personalized coaching to help patients better understand and manage their condition.
