In her role, Mrs. King oversees Registered Behavior Technicians who work under her supervision, she handles initial intakes, conducts assessments and writes treatment plans. Additionally, she trains RBTs on skill deficits, behavior replacement programming, supervises their direct time with clients, and manages insurance, billing, payroll, scheduling and outstanding paperwork. Beauty and the Behavior also contracts with a local hospital to support and co-treat for client's outpatient services.
Grateful for her company's success, Mrs. King formed Beauty and the Behavior LLC without external funding, using only $10,000 of personal savings to pay employees before insurance contracts and reimbursements began. The company now employs over 15 RBTs, a second BCBA and is looking to hire another Board-Certified Behavior Analyst to assist with the increasing service demand.
Leveraging her previous experience, Mrs. King was a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst at a small, locally owned ABA company in Bowling Green, Kentucky, from 2022 to 2023. In this role, she honed her expertise in working with children with Autism and developed her skills in Applied Behavior Analysis. Mrs. King is a former Special Education teacher who taught for the Warren County Public School district in Bowling Green from 2019 and 2022.
Mrs. King completed Elementary Education and Learning Behavior Disorders coursework receiving a Bachelor's Degree from Western Kentucky University in 2019 and a Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Southeast Missouri State University in 2021. Moreover, Mrs. King became highly qualified in her field with credentials as a Licensed Behavior Analyst, as an ADOS-2 administrator through the Autism Diagnostic Observation System and with designation as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Mrs. King is involved in several industry-related organizations, including the Association for Behavior Analysis International. Her commitment to community service is evident through her roles as a sponsor for local events organized by the American Cancer Society Inc., an organizer of special needs events in the community and a sponsor of trips for local elementary schools.
In recognition of her accomplishments, Mrs. King reflects on her unwavering dedication to helping children with Autism and advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves.
