Ms. Heiserman has established a distinguished career in literary and editorial fields, serving as the president of WriteBooksRight since 2014. In this role, she is dedicated to helping clients write books, coaching writers, and editing a wide range of books—both fiction and nonfiction. Her expertise extends to working with diverse clients, such as showcasing one woman's journey starting a multi-million dollar business, working with immigrants from nineteen nations to tell their stories, aiding some of the giants in the correctional field issue their new work, helping a player in the National Football League develop his story; and many other inspirational tales. She takes pride in her ability to assist clients in achieving their goals and turning their dreams into reality. Her work encompasses topics that include but are not limited to social sciences, education, equity, women's issues, health, and parenting. She has edited more than 300 books during her professional career.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Heiserman was the manager of publications and research at the American Correctional Association from 1993 to 2014. During her tenure, she contributed significantly to the field by overseeing the publication of numerous works, such as massive directories, and earning several awards for ACA books. Her leadership in this role underscored her commitment to excellence in publishing and research.

In addition to her managerial experience, Ms. Heiserman served as the director of the Washington Independent Writers' Conference at the National Press Club in 2000. This position allowed her to engage with fellow writers and industry professionals, further solidifying her reputation as a leader in the writing community. Earlier in her career, she was an editor of GUIDEPOST (now Counseling Today), the newspaper of the American Personnel and Guidance Association (now the American Counseling Association), from 1973 until 1975.

Ms. Heiserman's professional journey also included teaching English and communication skills from junior high school through college levels. Her dedication to her industry is reflected in her membership with organizations such as the Independent Publishers of New England, the National Education Association, the Association of Women Executives in Corrections, and the Editorial Freelancers Association. Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Heiserman was a volunteer mentor for young girls in her community. She served on the Bethesda Postal Advisory Commission and was the Democratic Precinct Chair for her area.

Forging the path for Ms. Heiserman's career was her academic background. She earned a Bachelor of Science in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, followed by a Master of Science in English and English education from the same institution. She attributes her success to her perseverance, optimism and family support — qualities that have been instrumental in her ability to guide clients toward achieving their literary aspirations.

She has also authored several influential publications, including Women in Science, Women in Communications, Women in Engineering, Opportunities in Paralegal Careers, Your Future in More Exotic Careers and many other books. Her latest books issued in 2024 include The Cupcake and the Vampire: World-Word Puzzle Books (two volumes of jumble puzzles) and a third book, Word Search and Eponyms, also part of this series. These innovative books are based on words that are the same in English as they are in another language in spelling and meaning.

Ms. Heiserman is the mother of two children and four grandchildren. Her cat, Mr. Mozart, has been part of her family for twenty-one years. She also enjoys exercising, reading, dining with friends, wearing dangling earrings, and visiting local art events.

Looking ahead, Ms. Heiserman is committed to completing several books she has started while continuing to help clients achieve their goals through additional literary projects. Among her upcoming works are the novels Messianic Dreams and With a Tear and a Kiss and Flourishing Female, a book for women's empowerment.
