J.D. and Ron Kauffman, Jr. proudly announce the opening of their new business, Kauffman's Original Crab Cakes, June, 2009. While the company name may be new, the recipe goes back three generations in the Kauffman family. J.D. and Ron Jr. are proud to continue their family tradition of making and selling genuine Maryland style crab cakes, made with nothing but blue crabs, as much as possible from the Chesapeake Bay, and all natural ingredients including genuine Chesapeake Bay seasonings.

"Our family's crab cakes have been in demand for almost 30 years," says Ron, Jr. "And even though our folks are taking a much needed rest, we are rising to the call of our devoted customers and will be making great crab cakes beginning June 1, 2009. The Kauffman brothers picked an auspicious time to open their business, since reports from the Chesapeake Bay indicate a bumper crop of the best blue crabs in several years coming from the Chesapeake Bay for 2009.

"We have lived and breathed crab cakes since we were just little boys," says J.D. "We've helped the folks pick, pack and ship crab cakes since before we were old enough to drive."
