Maria Eugenia Angarita-Troillard Joins Ranks of Leading Professionals

    WASHINGTON, DC, June 4, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Maria Eugenia Angarita-Troillard, Coordinator for the National Council of La Raza, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of civil rights advocacy.

Maria Eugenia Angarita-Troillard joined NCLR in 2009, bringing with her years of experience. Currently, she is responsible for improving Latino civil rights in America, working for the program's educational component, supporting the vice president of education, and organizing projects. Since 1999, she has also worked as a volunteer helping people in Venezuela restoring democracy and to that end she actively networks with approximately 68 journalists nationwide. She is also an active volunteer for the Humane Society of the United States and devotes much of her time advocating animal rights. She has always had a passion for human rights. She attributes her success to her perseverance.

Ms. Angarita-Troillard is pursuing her Master's Degree in Human Resource Management at the University of Maryland University College and received her Bachelor of Arts in French and Photojournalism from the University of Kansas in 1984. Ms. Angarita-Troillard served in the 1990s as the volunteer VP of Fundacion Zooamigos in Venezuela and she is a member of the Jane Goodall Institute, the Community Against Violence Network and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. She hopes to continue working on human rights and education, conduct conferences, and become involved in more civil rights issues.
