What is a Can Am Spyder / Can-Am Spyder?
The Can-Am Spyder Roadster ("Spyder") is a three-wheeled motor vehicle (two wheels in the front, one in the rear) similar in layout to a modern snowmobile. The Spyder uses an ATV-like chassis with a single rear drive wheel, and two wheels in front for steering.

The Rotax 990cc, V-Twin, liquid cooled motor packs a punch with its 106 hp engine. The Can-Am Spyder isn't a trike, in the traditional sense, as it sports two wheels in front and a single in the rear. Unlike some three-wheelers, however, the Spyder does not lean. The Spyder has a stability control system that practically controls the bike for you and the ABS braking system that makes stopping a breeze even under the most adverse conditions.

The Spyder comes in two different forms. The first is with a manual transmission and the second with semi-automatic or SE5 (Sequential Electronic 5-Speed) transmission. You shift the SE5 vwith your thumb and forefinger. The amazing feature of the SE5 is not only how it up-shifts through the five speeds but how it automatically downshifts for you as well.
