SONORA, MEXICO, August 27, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ducommun Incorporated recently announced that its Ducommun AeroStructures, Inc. (DAS) subsidiary has been awarded a contract for the tailcone and fuselage doors on Embraer's recently announced Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 executive jets. The DAS contract is valued in excess of $100 million at currently anticipated build rates. These assemblies will be manufactured at Ducommun's facilities in Southern California, Kansas, and Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico. Ducommun's manufacturing teams are working closely with Embraer's engineering group to develop related tooling and manufacturing processes.
Embraer is one of the world's largest manufacturer of commercial jets up to 120 seats, currently producing the ERJ 145 family of regional jets and the EMBRAER 170/190 family of commercial jets - the E-Jets, with around 1,500 aircraft delivered since 1996, worldwide.
