GURNEE, IL, September 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A plan to create real long term savings for the American taxpayer is presented in Sleep and Health Journal. The plan is not for the ideal of Universal coverage but will do more to stabilize long term costs than the current plan in Congress. The proposal is presented in Sleep and Health Journal @ http://www.sleepandhealth.com/rational-health-plan and focuses on providing health care that will save money for all concerned.
A comprehensive program that covers all Americans would be ideal but it is unlikely that a consensus will be reached. A program that gives universal coverage to children will be revenue neutral at worst and would most likely result in enormous savings while improving our country at all levels of society.
The health of our nation is dependent on the health of our children. Regardless of the financial, social or ethnic background of a child they are always innocents. The liberal democrats will have no trouble with covering children. It is inconceivable that the pro-life lobby would ever consider rejecting the protection of the health and welfare of the unborn. Any political group that is pro-life would not be able to refuse appropriate health care after the child leaves the womb. Fiscal conservatives cannot help but recognize the long-term savings realized by creating future healthy generations.
This plan is not meant to be the answer to the health care debate. It is meant to move the debate in a direction that protect our children who should not be subject to the political absurdities of the current debate. As the economy improves our nation still has the ethical responsibility of insuring a basic level of health care to all Americans. Our lawmakers also have a responsibility to preserve what our country has already achieved, the finest health care in the world.
We must recognize that comparisons with other systems of health care look only at statistical results for the entire nation and not at high standards of care we produce at our best that make our country the worldwide Mecca for those seeking unexcelled superior medical care. It has been said there are lies, damn lies and statistics, let us all beware of just what these statistics really mean.
