On October 10, Manzanita Trail was named Community of the Year for Detached Homes Priced $500,000 and over; Sustainable Community of the Year, Buyer's Choice Community of the Year for San Diego County and Buyer's Choice Community of the Year for Southern California. Buyer's Choice designations were determined solely by the votes of home shoppers. A prestigious competition of Sales and Marketing Councils throughout Southern California, the SoCalAwards launched Buyer's Choice this year as a special feature of the awards program.

In Los Angeles County, Oak Crest at Fair Oaks Ranch in the Santa Clarita Valley took a SoCal Award for Unique Space, with judges touting the flexibility of its Plan Four guest suite; Oak Crest was also a finalist as Community of the Year, and its Plan Three laundry/hobby room was a finalist for Unique Space.
In Ventura County, Waverly Place in Moorpark Highlands was a finalist for Attached Suburban Community. The townhome neighborhood also earned finalist recognition for overall design and landscaping.
Pardee Homes earned a SoCal Award as a company, for "An Open Letter," as Best Print Series in the advertising categories. For Special Promotion, Pardee Homes earned finalist recognition for its company-wide LivingSmart program of green and sustainable standards and options. Greenhaus is the ad agency for both.
Pardee Homes rounded out an evening of honors with finalist recognition for two of its interactive sales centers. They are Canyon Hills at Lake Elsinore and Bridle Ridge at Carmel Country Highlands.
