Diversified Business Communications Continues Global Expansion

    PORTLAND, MAINE, December 09, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Diversified Business Communications, http://www.divbusiness.com, a US-based trade show, publishing and eMedia company, is continuing its global expansion with three recent acquisitions. They include acquiring Infocast India, Spar Research in the US and the dmgworldmedia trade event portfolio in Australia.

Diversified is establishing a business presence in India with the acquisition of Infocast India, a magazine publisher and event organizer in the film and music production industry. This group, under the leadership of founder Anil Chopra, will operate as Diversified Communications India and provides a base of operations for future acquisitions and launches in India.

Diversified continues to diversify its portfolio with the acquisition of Spar Point Research LLC, a Massachusetts-based company that organizes conferences and exhibits serving the 3D imaging technology industry. The group operates an annual event in the US and produces an event in Japan.

Tom Greaves, the founder of Spar Point Research, will join the Diversified management team as director of the Spar group. "We are excited about the future growth opportunities for our product portfolio as part of Diversified," Greaves commented. "Diversified is a leading trade show organization, which will support the expansion of the portfolio and allow us to better serve the growing 3D imaging technology industry."

After 15 years in the 3D imaging technology industry, Mr. Greaves launched the first SPAR event in 2003.

"The Spar products are a great addition to our portfolio," commented Mike Lodato, Group VP, who will be responsible for the corporate leadership of the Spar portfolio. "I look forward to working with Tom to expand this franchise and leverage his expertise."

Diversified acquired the Australian trade event assets of dmgworldmedia, further strengthening its dominant position in the Australian exhibition industry. The assets include the events designEX (including Form & Function), FoodPro and Building Services & Maintenance Expo. These events complement products already produced by Diversified's Australian division, including DesignBuild and FoodTech.
