ADDISON, TX, December 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- American Sign Language provides parents and children the ability to communicate before children are of age to begin verbal communication. Children have been shown to learn and use sign language as young as 8 months. Parents will be at the classes to learn the signs along with their students. By the age of 2 they will have completely mastered the art of sign language and words or expressions that may be hard to pronounce vocally will be enhanced through sign language. Also, sign language helps to actually enhance children's speaking abilities; it allows them to integrate easier into traditional English classes.
Director Kelly Mayberry will be teaching the seminar at the preschool in Addison and recently said, "American Sign Language is an important tool in any mothers arsenal, imagine being able to talk to your child before they can even verbalize, you really get a great understanding of what your child is trying to say." "Your child can converse with you with short phrases and understands how to use sign language." Kelly continued, "The students in our preschool have done really well learning sign language and we're glad to be one of the only Addison preschools that is using the method."
Parents will be there in the class learning alongside their children in a practical environment. Sign Language classes provide parents with tools to communicate at an early age with students. It can be a bonding experience for parents and children. If you approach ASL lessons as a fun activity for you and your child you both come away with a great experience.
