COLUMBIA, MD, January 01, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Eric Chang (www.columbiaaesthetic.com), a board-certified plastic surgeon known for his results in Baltimore breast enhancement, body contouring, and facial sculpting procedures, is pleased to announce that he has been awarded full membership in the prestigious American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS).
"I'm honored to be recognized in this way, and I'm definitely excited to see how membership will make it easier for me to help my patients get excellent results," says Dr. Chang. "I work very hard to stay at the forefront of new developments in plastic surgery in the Baltimore area, and Society membership gives me an excellent way to make sure my patients keep benefitting from the latest knowledge and innovations."
ASPS membership is awarded to board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeons who have maintained good standing with their state boards and the larger plastic surgery community. While the Society holds high standards for its surgeons' ethics and safety practices, it also offers unique opportunities for surgeons to engage with the latest research and educate each other on the latest surgical techniques.
"The goal is always to give the patient safer surgeries and better results, and to do that well I have to stay in tune with the plastic surgery community," explains Dr. Chang. "Society conferences and seminars give me important ways to keep tabs on innovations that can help me, for example, speed healing for face lift patients or minimize scarring for breast lift surgery. For my patients, the advantages are obvious."
While Dr. Chang already has a reputation as a surgeon at the leading edge of new developments in liposuction and breast augmentation in Baltimore, Maryland, he says that plastic surgery is advancing so quickly that ASPS involvement is becoming increasingly important for surgeons to keep up with new developments as they happen.
"Today's surgeons already have a host of ways to help prevent complications and meet very high aesthetic standards, but I certainly feel it's my responsibility to do whatever I can to keep improving my patients' results as much as possible," he explains. "I'm constantly checking into the latest research so that I can keep refining my technique. I look forward to contributing to the field and interacting with other surgeons nationwide through my membership."
