CHIANG MAI, THAILAND, January 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- A special charity event will be taking place in Chiang Mai next month, when the streets of the Thai city are taken over by a parade of motorcycles.
The Chiang Mai Toy Ride is a charitable initiative organised by a committee of riders from Thailand, Canada, England, Australia, Germany and the US.
On the morning of Sunday February 21st, hundreds of motorcyclists will wind their way through the city, each carrying toys, games and cuddly toys on their vehicles.
Upon arriving at the X-Centre Zorb Ball field, the riders place their gifts together to create a huge pile of toys, which is then donated to charities working with underprivileged children.
A family party gets underway after the parade, meaning that people using hotels in Chiang Mai can look forward to live music, magicians, clowns and other entertainment.
There is also a prize for the best decorated motorcycles and various games for people to take part in.
Donated toys are distributed in cooperation with Give and Live, a non-profit organisation that aims to support disadvantage young people in south-east Asia.
One of the charity's other projects which could appeal to people using hotels in Thailand is the Ride Thailand Charity Motorcycle Tour, which began in Chiang Mai on January 19th.
