COLUMBUS, OH, January 30, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With UFC 108 drawing bad reviews and opinions from MMA fans all over the web, UFC 109 looks like it could be in for the same fate.
The two main fights for the night each have a heavy betting favorite of over -300 (3-1), which in the past has led to a "lopsided" fight and disappointed fans.
Dana White, the UFC CEO has drawn lots of criticism on the web from MMA blogs, forums and social media sites like Twitter.
"UFC 109 is a big fight night for the UFC," said MMAOdds.com marketing director Justin Goff. "On paper, the fight card for UFC 109 has some pretty big favorites, and if those favorites win it's probably going to be in convincing fashion. Fans don't really want that. We want to see a good fight until the end - Not just a quick TKO."
The UFC 109 odds have both Randy Couture and Nate Marquardt heavily favored over their opponents Mark Coleman and Chael Sonnen.
According to Goff, UFC odds usually do not favor fighters by this big of a margin. "Most fights in the UFC, the favorite is usually a -150 or -200 favorite. But UFC 109 has plenty of -300 and above favorites which is pretty unique to MMA betting."
