ZARAGOZA, SPAIN, February 12, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anyone who has booked accommodation in Zaragoza in April could be in luck as they may be able to see some of the city's attractions in a different way to normal.
On April 23rd, the region celebrates Aragon Day and shows off some of its most spectacular buildings to the public.
The festival originally had political motivations but has now transformed itself into a more light-hearted affair.
Public institutions around the autonomous region hold open days, allowing visitors and locals to explore some of the more iconic but functional buildings in the area.
The doors of the Pignatelli Building, which houses Aragon's government, as well as Armijo Palace - Aragon's magistrates' building - will be opened for curious members of the public and tourists to the area.
Other characteristics of the carnival include open-air performances, concerts and gatherings, which means that people staying in Zaragoza should be able to find a way of entertaining themselves.
Zaragoza hosts a number of fiestas throughout the year, one of the most prominent being the Pilar celebrations in October, which last for nine days.
Commenting on Aragon Day, Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, said: "We strongly urge people thinking of going to Aragon Day and who need hoteles en Zaragoza to book early to avoid disappointment."
