ROME, ITALY, March 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- If travellers want to have a bit of fun in between all the sightseeing that they will no doubt be doing while in Rome, then they could consider checking out the Primo Maggio Music Festival.
Primo Maggio is Italian for May 1st, so it will come as no surprise that this is when the free, open air music event takes place.
With many top Italian bands often appearing on the bill, it could be just the thing for guests at hotels in Rome who want to be a part of Italian culture, but may be a bit tired of walking around museums or Roman ruins.
"As well as the music, which goes on all day, there are numerous stalls selling food as well as T-shirts and other odds and ends," explained the tourism website Rome File.
The internet hub claimed that most of the groups that play the festival are domestic pop and rock acts but there is often an international guest thrown in.
Established in 1989, the event does not reveal who will play until a few days before it starts, but some big names that have played before are Hard-Fi and Marlene Kuntz.
If people want to check out this fantastic show, they should head down to the Piazza San Giovanni in Laterno between 14:00 and 23:00 (local time).
Jessica Reading, head of marketing for LateRooms, commented: "Demand for the Primo Maggio Music Festival is always significant and we recommend that anyone considering attending should book their hotel Roma as early as possible."
