The Reason for the Parkers Farm Recall

The states of Wisconsin and Minnesota found Listeria monocytogenes in some Parkers Farm finished product when they conducted sampling. So far, no illnesses have been reported.

Listeria infection can be serious or fatal in people with compromised immune systems, children, and the elderly. Pregnant women are more likely to become infected when they are exposed to listeria and it can cause miscarriage or stillbirth. Pregnant women who are infected can pass the infection to their newborn babies to whom the infection can be fatal.
