RIDGELAND, MS, April 19, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Earlier this month, April 2010, Sue Dent signed a one-book contract with Nicholas Grabowsky of Black Bed Sheet Books. "I was more than honored when Nicholas asked if I had anything I wanted to publish," Sue says. "It just so happened that I did."
Grabowsky is "A well-established author of horror/fantasy fiction." In 2002, he established the small press of Diverse Media, which published a critically-acclaimed special limited edition of his Halloween 4 novel. In 2008, he established the small traditional publishing house of Black Bed Sheet Books, which publishes fiction from many authors largely in the horror/fantasy category, and Black Bed Sheet Productions, which produces independent genre feature film.
Electric Angel is set to release near the end of 2010 with more information to come later.
On another note, Sue is actively seeking one publisher for her Thirsting for Blood Series. The first story in this series, Never Ceese, was short-listed in 2007 for a Bram Stoker Award for Superior Achievement in a First Novel and went on to final at the 2009 Pluto Awards. It was also book club choice of the month of May 2007 at the American Christian Fiction Writers Association when Sue was a member.
Forever Richard was short-listed for a 2008 Pluto Award and is currently on the long-list for a 2010 British Fantasy Award.
"Both books have also been approved by Spring Arbor for distribution to the Christian market as well," says Sue, "which has helped make the books available to my surprise audience of CBA market readers. This designation, however, doesn't put me in CBA member bookstores since paid affiliation dictates what goes on the shelves in that instance."
Sue is seeking a publisher that can survive the return polices put in place years ago to help larger publishers with warehousing cost; return policies that sink most small publishers before they even get off the ground. "I don't see these policies changing anytime soon so I'd prefer a house that can survive this broken system. Just wanted to make any interested publishers aware that I'm looking to find home for the entire series."
Never Ceese is currently published by Sue Dent's S D Enterprises. Forever Richard is available through The Writers Cafe' Press and Electric Angel will be available through Black Bed Sheet books.
