FLORENCE, ITALY, April 29, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The world famous Mugello circuit near Florence is set to host the fifth round of the MotoGP world championship this year.
Taking place on Sunday, June 6th, the race will bring top motorcyclists such as Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner to the Italian circuit.
Defending champion Rossi got off to the perfect start by winning the opening event in Qatar earlier this month, but rivals such as Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo will be intent on taking his crown as the season progresses.
People using hotels in Florence may want to get as close as possible to the action by heading to Mugello on Friday June 4th, when the first practice sessions take place.
Qualifying is scheduled for June 5th, with the race due to get underway at 14:00 local time the following day.
MotoGP has already seen some drama this season, as the Japanese leg of the championship, scheduled to take place at Motegi on April 25th, was postponed due to the volcanic ash cloud.
Spectators can expect plenty of excitement when the event comes to Italy, with Rossi racing in front of his home crowd as the bikes reach speeds of up to 310km per hour.
Tickets for the MotoGP at Mugello are priced between EUR56 and EUR184 (GBP48.70 and GBP160).
If you're heading to the MotoGP this year, we strongly advise that you book your hotel Firenze as soon as possible, given the huge popularity of the event.
