VACAVILLE, CA, August 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- CALINC Training, California's leading provider of lead-based paint, Asbestos, Hazwoper, and OSHA construction safety training, and the primary source for lead-based RRP certification in northern California is proud to announce record growth in the first half of 2010, with 4,243 students trained and certified, an overall increase of 255% over the second half of 2009.
A key driver of 2010 growth has been based on the EPA's Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule (40 CFR 745) requiring notification/education of occupants and the use of safe work practices when working around lead paint in all pre-1978 homes, child care facilities, and schools. Enrollments for the certification class grew from 231 in the second half of last year to 2448 in the first half of 2010, an increase of 1060%.
The delay in enforcement by the EPA from April 2010, to October 1, 2010 is also providing contractors who have not yet been certified with the opportunity to do so without the fear of being penalized for non-compliance.
In addition to the substantial growth in RRP training and certification, enrollment for Asbestos classes increase 37% to 1,442 students, and HAZWOPER classes increased 247% to 311 students.
"We are extremely proud of our contribution to enabling so many industry professionals to achieve certification across a broad number of EPA and OSHA safety classes," said Carla Wroten, Director of Training Services for CALINC Training. "Our performance and growth this year to date cements our standing as the leading provider of lead-based paint, Asbestos, Hazwoper, and OSHA construction safety training certification in California."
