ModSecurity Recognised as the Most Widely Deployed Web Application Firewall by Independent Research Firm

    /24-7PressRelease/ - August 09, 2006 - Thinking Stone, a web application firewall specialist, today announced it had participated in the Forrester WaveTM: Web Application Firewalls, Q2 June 2006 evaluation with ModSecurity, its open source web application firewall product. The evaluation was conducted by Forrester Research Inc., a leading independent research firm.

In the report ModSecurity was recognised as "the most widely deployed web application firewall", with thousands of installations worldwide. It is also a recognition of the fact open source is a viable business strategy. The report cited ModSecurity as a Strong Performer and praised it for its focus and consistency in design. The score card summary also reported that ModSecurity's "stringent implementation standards" push the market toward higher quality products.

ModSecurity is an open source web application firewall with thousands of deployments worldwide. Its analyses the HTTP traffic in real time for suspicious behaviour and signs of intrusion, so it can record, detect, and prevent both known and unknown attacks against web applications.
