/24-7PressRelease/ - ATLANTA, GA, August 16, 2006 - Renegade executive Don Turner is a "Big Picture" type guy. He sees things in other companies that seasoned personnel tend to overlook. So when the Board of Directors of Pro-Tech decided the 16 year-old company had significant market opportunities they went after new expansion capital and brought in additional management.
Donald H. Turner was named CEO of Pro-Tech Solutions, Inc., June 5, 2006 and will lead the company's three business lines: Pro-Tech, industrial computer workstation systems; Pro-Tech Kiosks, self-service kiosks; and theQsolution, the newest of the Pro-Tech line of self-service kiosks that leverages innovative software components from Strategic Partners.
Turner's first role as CEO of Pro-Tech Solutions is to restructure and revitalize the company around three business lines by doing what he does best: thinking outside the box.
"I go into companies that are growing at a single-digit rate and look for innovative restructuring and growth opportunities in ways that they simply hadn't considered," says the market-driven executive with over 25 years of corporate, start-up and international business management. "Clearly, my job is to push the envelope," Turner explains, "The challenge is to always push it forward."
"The good news is that Pro-Tech is a pioneer in the kiosk marketplace industry and that marketplace is really starting to take off." Turner went on to say. "Our company tagline is 'Experience Matters' and that really says it all - we believe companies that are looking to leverage the many benefits of kiosks will recognize and appreciate the track record we bring to the table", he adds with a smile.
"In the industrial marketplace, some of our workstations that were installed 16 years ago are still running", he says, "that is a testimony to the engineering, quality and ruggedness of our products - not many other companies can say that."
One of the key challenges facing Turner will be to evolve the company to take advantage of the rapid growth in the self-service kiosk marketplace. This includes taking a hardware only company and transforming it into a provider of integrated hardware, software, consulting, and service. "The company's legacy is in hardware products only", Turner explained, "however, the rapidly emerging kiosk marketplace requires an integrated solution approach. We look to team with the very best domain-expert software firms and couple them with our solutions," he added. "As part of this solution offering we bring extensive knowledge of how to 'make it work' relative to placement, flow, promotion, signing, and even training - the fact is, there is more to successful kiosk deployment then plugging it in."
Turner emphasized, "We have a great team - including one of the true pioneers in the Kiosk marketplace Peter Kaszycki - that I've enhanced with several key hires in Marketing, Technology, and Customer Experience. For me, a great Team is the key. There likely isn't anything I know in business that I don't know someone else in the world who knows it better than me. My value is in establishing the 'big picture', the Customer-centric processes, an execution plan that is reasonable and attainable, and finally a Management Team that can deliver."
Pro-Tech's President and Founder, Kaszycki is enthusiastic about Turner joining the Pro-Tech Team, "Don brings a lot of the skills and experience we need to take advantage of the marketplace opportunities in front of us." Being part of the selection process, Kaszycki added, "I couldn't be happier about Don joining us and look forward to working with him as we continue to add to the success of our rich history."
A native of, Skidway Lake, Michigan, Turner graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the General Motors Institute and earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Michigan. From there he began his visionary practices of strategic planning and marketing services for technology-intensive companies such as General Motors, Booz-Allen & Hamilton, Ernst & Young, KPMG Peat Marwick, and Computervision before landing in Atlanta in 1999 with Premiere Technologies.
Turner's first success came in the mid 1980's when he was the Eastern U.S. Managing Director for a Detroit, MI start-up software company, AutoSimulations, Inc. While there, he helped pioneer the industrial computer simulation process becoming the market leader in 18 months and doubling the company's sales in 24 months. "We changed the way the automated industry built, managed, designed and analyzed their large-scale factory automation systems," Turner explains. "That was my first experience of fundamentally changing how a marketplace operated - it was an intoxicating thrill that once experienced, you spend the rest of your career trying to replicate."
In recent years, Turner served as President of Delta Management Group, focusing on interim executive and consulting positions in the areas of strategy, marketing, and revenue-side restructuring. It was from this position that Pro-Tech hired him. The father of two grown sons, he and his wife of 32 years live in Dawsonville, Georgia.
"The growth opportunity in the self-service kiosk industry is exciting - furthermore, it is not well-defined which represents even more of an opportunity for Strategic Marketers such as myself." Turner says. Bottom line, people are not as intimidated by technology as they once were. Technology is becoming ubiquitous in every industry and market - it permeates everything and everyone. Leveraging technology to marketplace solutions - based on experience - is what we are all about."
Pro-Tech, Pro-Tech Kiosks and theQsolution are units of Pro-Tech Solutions, Inc. Based in Suwanee, Georgia; Pro-Tech Solutions, Inc. is THE experienced leader in building self-service kiosks and industrial computer systems.
