CSA 2010 Task Force Member Announces a Solution to CSA 2010

CSA 2010 Scorecards may be to the benefit of a fleet that is able to sustain the financial requirements of maintaining equipment, but that alone will not ensure that the business survives.

MIDLOTHIAN, TX, December 09, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David Saunders, an active member of the CSA 2010 Task Force and CEO of Compliance Safety Systems, announces to the transportation industry his solution regarding the new CSA 2010 mandates.

In a recent interview, David shares, "Driver fitness and accountability will correct itself over the next 18 to 24 months with Electronic On Board Recorders, driver health and wellness programs and more stringent physical qualification processes, but an engine will always leak oil, a tire wear down, and a light burn out, so no technology will ever correct that."

He continues with, "Scorecards may be to the benefit of a fleet that is able to sustain the financial requirements of maintaining equipment, but that alone will not ensure that the business survives a law suit or that a third party conducting business with that company could not be named in that same lawsuit."

The real question from David to be asked is, "Which program and what standard will be accepted by the Public, and of course the Enforcement community"?

"Until that answer comes from a case law setting, I would be concentrating on how proactive you are on a day to day basis with your data by showing due diligence in equipment repairs and driver correctness, not when it updates in the MCMIS or when an Officer tells you about it."

"IT tools and systems that are available to help the fleet and driver are of course essential but just remember, David says: "Scorecard systems will never fix a Score, only your Policies, therefore you had better pay attention too and react daily to your inspection reports, not just each month when MCMIS updates."

David ends by saying, "if fleets will concentrate on enhanced driver training and maintenance programs" scores will not be low and easier to manage, "Fix the truck, you fix the score", or your business will not survive and the Public will not be won over."
