Hollywood's Newest Latin Star

CUBAN-AMERICAN OSCAR TORRE STARS IN LION'S GATE HEIST FILM "BANDOLEROS"

/24-7PressRelease/ - LOS ANGELES, CA, October 18, 2006 - "Bandoleros" is a heist/caper movie in the tradition of "Ocean's Eleven," but pulled off by a group of immigrant workers who team up to rob an evil, wealthy entrepreneur. The result is a motley crew of underdogs, undertaking an impossible task, at impossible odds.

Cuban American actor Oscar Torre stars alongside Spanish film and television stars, which includes Fernando Colunga, Miguel Varoni, Gabriel Soto, and Saul Lisazo. The Jim McNamara/ Ben O'Dell project was written by Jojo Henrickson and directed by Joe Menendez. Presently in post production, the film is scheduled to be released in theaters April, 2007.

Torre first garnered attention with the lead role in the film "Libertad," playing an artist in Cuba who is unjustly sentenced to 15 years in prison and later escapes on a raft. After viewing his performance, NBC-TV film critic Maria Salas predicted, "Oscar will be the next Latin star," and Telerevista Magazine listed him as one of the actors in Hollywood to keep your eyes on. Theatre critic Jacob Clark of MetroLA Magazine, in his review of the play "The Contract," says "Oscar Torre is an incredibly organic actor whose work is a marvel through his absolute naturalness. Torre literally lives the character, and I can think of no better accolade for a performance." Torre's other credits include lead roles in "The Versace Murder," "Suicide Blonde," and "Hunting of Man." Oscar is next slated to star in a sitcom pilot directed by Jojo Henrickson.
