"Recruiting this type of industry to Nashville is the best type of relocation in my book. High-paying jobs. Smart people. And a vision for growth. I think they'll do well here," Schulz said.

Chief Technology Officer Wayne Ramprashad, a former chief architect at AOL, said being in Nashville provides ZOI with a competitive advantage over technology companies in other cities, since the turnover rate is very low in Nashville and a majority of development work is in healthcare or on backend systems. "Programmers like to work with the latest technologies and on projects that their friends and families can feel and interact with.
