SURREY, ENGLAND, June 10, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Following its victory at the 2010 British Insurance Awards, in the Broking Initiative of the Year category, Avantia is delighted to announce it's nomination for the 2011 British Insurance Awards - this time in the Business Transformation Deal of the Year category.
Avantia has been nominated in recognition of a joint initiative with comparison site giant Confused.com which led to the first proper comparison site proposition for people who normally struggle to find insurance because of where they live or their background.
"The British Insurance Awards showcase top class performance and innovation and victory in any of the categories is a recognised mark of achievement. Following our success at last year's awards, we are delighted to have been nominated again this year" said David Walker, Managing Director of Avantia Insurance.
"We feel we have reshaped the marketplace for so-called non-standard household insurance, for example offering holiday home insurance, with our HomeProtect service as it allows everyone, no matter who they or where they live to get cover immediately" continued Walker.
Walker believes that more insurers would target people with personal or property circumstances, such as house insurance with subsidence, which they consider non-standard if they had the systems to capture the data and respond online.
"Non-standard household insurance covering people with criminal convictions, CCJ's or those with a poor claims record - or, in particular, subsidence or previous flooding, accounts for around 20% of the home insurance market. We know from our own experience that with the right systems and processes in place, the vast majority of this can be written automatically, providing immediate online access to millions of people who were previously marginalised".
HomeProtect is available online via HomeProtect.co.uk and covers the widest footprint of non-standard home insurance in the market.
HomeProtect offer building and contents insurance to everyone. This includes flooding insurance and criminal convictions insurance, as well as other situations where obtaining home and contents insurance may otherwise be difficult. For more information visit HomeProtect.co.uk.
