Andy Hannan of Bethesda Maryland's MARK IV Builders Contributes Column to Remodeling Magazine

    BETHESDA, MD, July 14, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- MARK IV Builders (http://www.markivbuilders.com/), a Bethesda design build firm, is proud to announce that their Production Manager, Andrew Hannan, has contributed an expert opinion column to the June 2011 issue of Remodeling Magazine, published by Hanley Wood.

His latest column for Remodeling Magazine is entitled "Laptop Benefits," and discusses his experience using a laptop in the field and what kind of positive impact it had upon the day-to-day work at various remodeling sites. In his column, Hannan explains "During the nine months that he [MARK IV Builders Superintendent Jim Yingling] has been using the computer, it has improved communication and increased efficiency among all parties involved in a remodel."

Hannan found that the laptop came in handy when dealing with architects, clients and suppliers, as well as when working in the office. Being able to contact architect by e-mail allowed MARK IV Builders to send photos of jobsite questions, eliminating errors caused by miscommunication. Being able to pull information from the laptop and download it the main office computer meant Hannan could review a remodeling job without having to conduct a full site visit. Hannan concluded, "Though I was initially concerned about personal use of the laptop on the jobsite and our superintendent being overwhelmed with information, the reality is that the benefits far outweigh the concerns."
