NEW YORK, NY, August 31, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With a great response from the audience Christopher Flach's film Madeleine Castaing, ended the last days of the Cesis Festival along with the final concert "Imants Kalnins and Philip Glass." Attended by more than 1800 visitors, this years 2011Festival contained a rich program featuring a diverse range of art forms included classical music concerts, visual art exhibitions, films and drama performances.
Christopher Flach's film "Madeleine Castaing," is the documentary that explores the personality and influence of the French decorator and antique dealer. The film celebrates Castaing's neoclassical taste in decor and her glamorous appearance even into her 90s. The film reintroduces her taste for Napoleon III furnishings and 18th century English furniture to collectors of art and design. Christopher Petkanas writes "Its a fountain of theatrical reminiscences."
About Christopher Flach
A New York City native, Flach spent his very early art career studying with Ansel Adams and Yousuf Karsh and more recently under the tutelage of Mary Ellen Mark. Co-founding Martha Angus, Inc., he re-located to Manhattan, opened a fine art studio, where he continues to photograph, document, film, and donate time and work to raise funds for the community.
