SAN DIEGO, CA, December 08, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jackson Design & Remodeling (JDR) continued its 2011 winning streak, by earning four local Contractor of the Year (CotY) Awards -- sweeping the Residential Kitchen categories -- Saturday night at the annual National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) holiday dinner.
"We're really excited about these awards," said Todd Jackson, President and CEO of JDR. "Especially to have three diverse kitchens - one rustic modern, one inspired by old-world Tuscany and one ultra modern - it shows the incredible talent of our design team. This is really an honor and a great way to cap off an amazing year."
JDR won CotYs in the following categories:
Residential Kitchen $40,000 - $80,000: Designed by Bonnie Bagley-Catlin and located in Point Loma, this bold, modern kitchen delights the eye with vivid blue details and warm wood tones while honoring the vision of the local architect Loch Crane who built the original home in 1952. Inspired by imaginative design, the clients were clear about making a design statement, not just getting a kitchen "makeover."
Residential Kitchen $80,000 - $120,000: Designed by Bonnie Bagley-Catlin, this kitchen remodel located on the outskirts of La Jolla combines the most appealing elements of rustic and modern aesthetics. Honoring the clients' desire for warm tones of wood, expansive space, and a blend of both rustic and modern spirit, our designers created structural and visual solutions. The result is an extraordinary kitchen that accommodates the homeowners and their guests with comfort and imagination.
Residential Kitchen over $120,000: Designed by JDR Senior Designer Tatiana Machado-Rosas and located in 4S Ranch, the inspiration for this kitchen remodel was the clients' love of Italy and their desire to have a design reminiscent of Old World Tuscany. An impressive Mascarilla granite island welcomes family and friends with plenty of space to sit or take part in cooking adventures.
Residential Bath Over $60,000: Designed by Bonnie Bagley-Catlin and located in Scripps Ranch, this master bathroom was significantly reconfigured for a young professional couple looking to create a tranquil and serene bathroom that incorporated the wife's Japanese heritage. The new master bathroom is a peaceful retreat that combines ancient tradition and modern style with an imaginative interpretation.
An impartial panel of judges who are experts within the industry and associated fields, select CotY winners based on each entrant's "before and after" photography and project description. Judging was based on problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.
