"We have a heavily modified implementation of PeopleSoft World, and we have been live for over six years, with no motivation to do future upgrades," stated Means. "Why should we continue to pay high prices for PeopleSoft maintenance, when most of that money goes towards future releases?" he continued. "With the Oracle buyout, we are even more certain that we will not see any return on spending over $200,000 a year on maintenance. With Klee/JDEtiPS, we'll save over 75%."
Means stated that he evaluated several alternatives, and concluded that Klee was the best fit for Decorative Concepts. We already know that maintenance is not bundled with SPC codes—so that means we can get the codes we need to keep running the software without being on the vendor's maintenance program."
