He currently serves as the Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Institute and Chair of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine for Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints.
Dr. Shimshak is recognized as a national and international expert and thought leader in his field. He specializes in clinical cardiology and interventional therapy of advanced coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shimshak has distinguished himself throughout his career by his interests in physician education, clinical research and as a consultant to industry. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.
