NEW YORK, NY, June 22, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- CEO of Northstar Consulting Group, Bart Yates and Corporate Trainer Bettina Tam participated in a Tough Mudder event in Pennsylvania to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, with other members of the team looking on and offering their support. Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test individuals all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.
The Wounded Warrior Project, who's mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors, is a charity strongly supported by Northstar Consulting Group. Their mission is to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members. The money raised helps to provide combat stress recovery programs, employment services, and adaptive sports programs.
Northstar Consulting Group's CEO, Bart Yates was proud to take part in the Tough Mudder event. "It's a fantastic event that raises money for a wonderful cause. It was both physically and mentally challenging and certainly shed light on the strength and courage of those injured while serving our country," says Bart Yates of Northstar Consulting Group.
This event featured different obstacles including the artic enema, berlin walls, boa constrictor, cliff hanger, dirty ballerina, electric eel, funky monkey, and many more. These extremely difficult obstacles range from being submerged then having to swim through an ice bath, to crawling through a series of pipes containing freezing cold mud. Northstar Consulting Group agree though these challenges seem tough, they are nothing compared to the hardships returning wounded soldiers endure.
These Tough Mudder events have helped to raise approximately 3 million dollars. Many of the events take place in hostile environments, often at altitude, and are a significant physical and mental challenge. Many continue to support this worthy cause and donations are tracked minute by minute on the Tough Mudder Website.
Bart Yates, CEO or Northstar Consulting Group comments, "I strongly urge others to take part in future Tough Mudder events, completing the course offers a true sense of accomplishment all while contributing to a great charity."
