Two New London Restaurants in Heron Tower Give Diners Spectacular Views Across the City

    LONDON, ENGLAND, August 01, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Heron Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the City of London, launches its first restaurant, SushiSamba, this Friday 27th July and has announced a further restaurant one floor above, Duck & Waffle, which will open in early August.

Situated opposite Liverpool Street Station, Heron Tower became the tallest building in the City of London when it was completed in April 2011, a title which has since passed to The Shard which was officially inaugurated earlier this month. Visitors who want to be among the first to visit the new Heron Tower restaurants can stay in the City and book London hotels close to the Heron Tower and while there they can also see the 70,000-litre fish tank, the largest privately owned aquarium in the United Kingdom.

Offering a fusion of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine, SushiSamba, which first launched in New York in 1999, will open on the 38th and 39th floor of the tower with two outdoor terraces, a sushi bar and the 160-seat restaurant. Executive Chef Jeffrey Kipp who has previously worked at Daylesford Organic and Gordon Ramsay's Royal Hospital Road will be overseeing the menus which will feature items from a Robata grill, along with a variety of seviches and tiraditos, Samba rolls (the house version of sushi) and sharing plates.

The following month sees the launch of Duck & Waffle, a 24 hour restaurant on the 40th floor where British chef Daniel Doherty will showcase his culinary diversity with a menu which features local, rustic, seasonal and sustainable British ingredients, beginning with breakfast at 6am.

SushiSamba opens on this Friday 27th July for dinner only and from next Wednesday 1st August for all bookings. Duck & Waffle will open in early August 2012. Both restaurants will offer diners impressive views and both are operated by US restaurant group Samba Brands Management which was founded by Shimon Bokovza, Matthew Johnson and Danielle Billera.
