Vickie D. Kummerfeldt Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who

    SAN JOSE, CA, August 8, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vickie D. Kummerfeldt, Quality System Manager for Spectra Laboratories, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in laboratory operations.

With 15 years of professional experience, Ms. Kummerfeldt has developed an expertise in quality assurance and people management. In her current position, she oversees the Quality Systems department assist and reviews a variety of investigations, facilitates internal and external audits and ensuring compliance with laboratory regulatory and safety agencies. Ms. Kummerfeldt became involved in her profession due to her background in the Marines; she also sought a career that allowed her mobility, since her husband was enlisted in the Marines at the time. She was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corp, with the rank of sergeant E-5, after nine years of service. She attributes her success as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to luck, strategic planning, love to learn her drive to succeed and mentor, Steve Allen, a retired U.S. Navy commander.

Ms. Kummerfeldt earned her Ph.D. in Organization and Management Specializing in Leadership in 2011 from Capella University and has been accepted in their Doctorate in Healthcare Administration. In 2004, she graduated from Southern Wesleyan University, earning a Master of Arts. A certified clinical laboratory scientist, she is a member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Ms. Kummerfeldt hopes to continue growing professionally, and acquire skills outside of laboratory work.
