HOUSTON, TX, April 10, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The National Foundation for Veteran Redeployment (NFVR) invites Houston business professionals to support its efforts to get veterans back to work by attending a VIP social event to be hosted at the Red Door on April 25.
The mixer is a great opportunity for young professionals, sponsors, committee members and supporters to connect and support NFVR's mission to help unemployed veterans improve their lives with new careers in America's oil and gas industry.
It will also be the official kick-off for the much anticipated Energizer event which will take place on Saturday, April 27, a day that Houston's Mayor Annise Parker has declared Houston's National Foundation for Veteran Redeployment Day.
The Energizer partners representatives from the oil and gas industry with veterans for a day of competition, teambuilding, inspiration and fun! Teams will endure traditional military exercises that test both physical and mental capabilities while promoting camaraderie and raising awareness about the NFVR's mission.
"Transitioning back to civilian life is tough for many veterans," says Scot Cohen, Chairman of the Board of NFVR. "By helping individuals train for and obtain jobs in America's strongest and most robust industry, we are hoping to help to make the transition a little easier."
Since last April, NFVR has placed nearly 100 veterans with companies thanks to the generous donations of supporters and close partnerships within the industry.
The kick-off social will be held April 25, 7:30pm, at Red Door in Midtown, located at 2416 Brazos Street. The Energizer competition will be held Saturday, April 27 at Rice Stadium from 9 am until noon. The event is closed to the public. Therefore, prior registration is required.
